Cherry Blossoms and Bluebonnets
CHERRY BLOSSOMS:
Last weekend I flew to Maryland/Delaware for the state’s Ministry Wives Retreat.
Sherry Lee, Iris White and Melody Knox planned an amazing weekend for 150 pastor wives.
The theme was Tapestry, using Colossians 2:2
“I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery.”
I found out that Iris is actually a weaver (and a pastor’s wife), and asked if she could sit onstage and weave while I talked. Since I’m not the greatest speaker, I thought I could use the distraction. It was a lovely illustration. I was so blessed by those women, and heard many of their wonderful testimonies of God’s care. And I got to see those gorgeous cherry blossoms.
#2 – BLUEBONNETS: From Maryland I flew to Houston to see our son, then to Fort Worth to visit my Mom and Bruce, and brothers and their families. A busy 2 1/2 days! So good to see them all.
And isn’t God so good? The bluebonnets were in full bloom there in Texas, along with Mom’s gorgeous rose garden. What a relaxing treat!
All those perfect flowers…
“And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?” Luke 2:28
