Kick-Off’s for Women’s Ministry

Here’s the fun part of writing a book: receiving notes from people you’ve never met about how God is working in their lives and their church.
I’ve gotten numerous notes just this fall from leaders of churches’ women’s ministries, sharing about their Kickoff events. It’s just like opening a beautiful gift box–a surprise blessing.
Here’s one I received today:
“I wanted to tell you about a fabulous weekend that just took place at my former church [a church in West Virginia.] My good friend is the leader of the women in that church. She has the ladies of that church on board to change their way of doing women’s ministry to the LIGHT way.
Saturday was a kick-off for it. I was their speaker and used Friends, Flip Flops and Chocolate as our theme (one I found on another online source for women). The day was designed around the For Me, For Us and For Him ministries….Bible study and more in the morning, decorating flip flops before lunch, a wonderful lunch and then some One Another Stations for the For Him ministries, including a book study (using the book Don’t Miss Your Life by Charlene Baumbich…more of a For Me but…), making gifts in a jar (choc chip cookies of course!), quill ministry, stocking the community resource center and an exercise group. All of this gave them a taste of what is to come for their women.
This day was just as the intro to your book said…Picture This! Women coming to your church excited and talking and… They certainly did that and they left still talking.
Just wanted to thank you again for your book and your creative ideas for making our women’s ministries come alive again!”
Hope your women’s group has had a great kick-off for the year. Praying for God’s blessings as you serve Him. Keep on shining!
