DAY #7 – “31 Days to a Better Deacon’s Wife”

DAY #7 - SMILE WHEN YOU SERVE.
As you work and serve God in your church, do it with visible joy.
Three reasons:
1) God expects it. “Serve the LORD with gladness…“ Psalm 100:2
2) Others are observing your life. “Watch the blameless and observe the upright, for the man of peace will have a future.” Psalm 37:37
Someone was speaking to me about one of our church’s amazing deacon wives and stated, “I can tell that she loves serving God!” Can those around you see your joy in serving?
3) If you serve with a complaining, negative spirit instead of joy, it does not honor your great God. Take a look at this verse in Deuteronomy, where God is punishing the Israelites “…because you didn’t serve the LORD your God with joy and a cheerful heart, even though [you had] an abundance of everything.” Deuteronomy 28:47
Today, will you verbalize your joy? Tell someone that you find great joy in serving God. Practice serving with joy this week. Each time you do something “in His Name,” be sure it’s obvious to others that you are serving with joy.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 HCSB
