DAY #28 – DECORATE A DOORPOST (31 Days to a Better Deacon Wife)

Day #28 – Decorate your Doorposts
TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT: Put a Scripture in every room of your home.
Read this:
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart.
Repeat them to your children.
Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead.
Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Wow! Do you get the idea that God wants us to pay attention to His Word? As you have committed to faithfully read God’s Word daily, you have discovered its rich, relevant value.
Today’s challenge is to repeat God’s Word to your children, to talk about them in normal conversation, to consider them during the day and night, and to place His Word visibly around your house. You can use framed Scripture verses, small metal plates with a verse from His Word, Scriptures printed by hand or computer. You can place them on mirrors, refrigerator, walls, windows, furniture. Find at least one place in every room of your house, and place a Scripture in a visible location.
You’ll be amazed at how God will use His Word to encourage you, to calm you, to teach your children, to witness to your guests.
